About Forte Kochi

Forte Kochi occupies a restored mansion on Princess Street, the old heart of Fort Kochi. The building began as a Portuguese structure, picked up Dutch and British alterations, and became a family home in the late 1800s, once part of the house of a prominent Jewish family. Today it holds about 26 heritage rooms with four-poster beds, tinted arched windows and patterned tile floors, arranged around a courtyard pool with an old well beside it. Vasco da Gama Square, the beach walkway and the Chinese fishing nets are an easy stroll away, and the in-house Jetty restaurant mixes British, European and Kerala dishes.
